Beer Fermenting Equipment

Beer brewing is much like cooking - you want to make sure you’ve got all the ingredients and the process right. Fermentation is a very important process during which yeast turns the glucose in the wort to alcohol and CO2 thus giving the beer its proper alcohol content and carbonation.

Whether you are just making your first steps in homebrewing or you are already an experienced brewer, you will find all the beer fermentation equipment you might need on Beverage Craft.

We currently offer fermenting buckets of different volumes and a wide range of accessories like airlocks, lid openers, stick-on thermometers, and silicone bungs.

If you are not sure which type of beer fermenting equipment is right for you, let Beverage Craft specialists step in and help you make the right choice. Contact our team via live chat, email or phone - we’ll be there in an instant to provide you with professional consult and assistance.

Beer Fermentation Process

Proper fermentation is essential to the output quality of your home-brewed beer. How to manage fermentation and achieve outstanding results? Let’s talk about it in detail below by studying the steps you need to go through:

  1. Pour the wort into the fermenter, after which you need to take a reading of the temperature to make sure it’s right for adding yeast (remember to always sanitize your equipment, including the thermometer and hydrometer)
  2. To measure the temperature, put your thermometer into the fermenting bucket and swirl it around a bit to make sure you’ve got the right reading. A few seconds later, take it out and see what the temperature is - ideally, it should be between 65 and 75 degrees
  3. After you’ve made sure the temperature’s right, take out your hydrometer, stick it into the mix and let it float for a while to measure the density of the beer. The proper density depends on the type of beer you’re brewing, but usually, it’s within the 1.048 to 1.052 range
  4. The next step is adding yeast - after doing so, seal up the beer equipment fermentation tank. A good idea would be sanitizing your fermenter lid - simply as a precaution
  5. Finally, attach an airlock on top of the lid. After approximately 24 hours, you will see the CO2 bubbling thus indicating the fermentation is underway. The fermenter should be stored in a dark place with a temperature of 65-75 degrees

The whole fermentation thing usually takes about a week or two to complete. You will need to watch the airlock - as soon as it stops actively bubbling, the fermentation is nearing its end. Wait for a few hours to make sure and you’re ready to move on to the next step!
